Neon Sign Park Coming to Casa Grande

Downtown Casa Grande is going to be a little brighter soon.

Work has officially started on the Casa Grande Neon Sign Park, which will feature 14 rehabilitated, mid-20th-century electric signs.

The 4-acre area is owned by the Kramer family, who own Casa Grande Valley Newspapers Inc. The park is funded through a $144,000 grant; ongoing maintenance and electricity costs will be paid through donations.

The nonprofit behind this project is Casa Grande Main Street (link is external). Its director told The Arizona Republic (link is external) that the group hopes this is the beginning of a neon resurgence that leads to bigger things for the city.
